Today, Stockton Mayor Michael Tubbs announced his support for Kathy Miller for State Assembly. Miller is running for the seat currently held by Susan Eggman, who has announced she is seeking election to the State Senate.
“Kathy and I served on the Stockton City Council together, where we implemented the plan that led our City out of bankruptcy,” Mayor Tubbs said. “Kathy doesn’t let politics get in the way of doing what is right. She knows that by working together, we can get more done for the people we serve.”
“Not only does Kathy Miller do the hard work, she is an experienced and compassionate public servant who will continue to tackle the tough issues like homelessness and housing, reducing crime and violence and keeping kids out of trouble,” Tubbs continued. “Kathy is a tireless advocate for the issues that impact our daily quality of life. She will be a strong and effective representative for our communities in the State Assembly.”
Kathy Miller is a San Joaquin County Supervisor who previously served on the Stockton City Council, and as Executive Director of the Downtown Stockton Alliance. Miller also owned and operated her own small business.
“It’s an honor to be supported by Mayor Tubbs,” Kathy Miller said. “The Mayor and I share the same values and will continue to work together for our children, families, neighborhoods and local businesses.”
The endorsement of Mayor Tubbs comes on the heels of two endorsements last week by Stockton Vice Mayor Daniel Wright and Councilmember Susan Lenz.
