Today, Kathy Miller’s campaign for Assembly announced that she has won the support of current Tracy City Councilmembers Dan Tavares Arriola and Rhodesia Ransom and former Tracy Mayor Michael Maciel. They join a growing list of local leaders and community members who have thrown their early, unequivocal support behind Kathy Miller for Assembly.
“It is an honor to receive the support of Councilmembers Arriola and Ransom and former Mayor Maciel. As the second most populated city in San Joaquin County, Tracy is a city that knows the difference access to high wage jobs, safe neighborhoods and good schools can make for our quality of life. In the Assembly, I will continue to fight for these issues and ensure everyone has the opportunity to own a home and raise their families in safe, healthy neighborhoods.”
Councilmember Dan Arriola is the youngest councilmember ever elected in Tracy, and also serves as a Deputy District Attorney for San Joaquin County. Michael Maciel is a military veteran, farmer and retired police officer with the Tracy Police Department. He served as a Tracy Councilmember from 2008 to 2014, and as Mayor from 2014 to 2016. Councilmember Ransom has served on the Tracy City Council since 2016 and was previously a planning commissioner for the City of Tracy. She is also the co-founder and executive director of a local non-profit that mentors and seeks to improve the lives of at-risk youth in San Joaquin County.
