Today, Kathy Miller for Assembly announced the endorsements of Senator Mike Machado (Ret.) and Senator Patrick Johnston (Ret.), both of whom represented San Joaquin County in the State Senate and Assembly.
Mike Machado is known for his expertise on water issues and the San Joaquin Delta. A family farmer, Machado authored two California water bonds to provide clean drinking water and flood protection.
Machado praised Kathy Miller for her ongoing work to protect our water supplies and agricultural economy:
“Kathy Miller will make a great Assemblymember. As a County Supervisor she has taken a leadership role in protecting our water, the right to farm, and protecting our farm land. She will be a strong voice for agriculture and all of San Joaquin County.”
Patrick Johnston represented San Joaquin County in the legislature for 20 years, first as an Assemblymember and then as a State Senator, where he effectively pushed policies for Delta protection, access to healthcare, vocational education and job training.
Johnston said he supports Kathy Miller because he knows she will be effective:
“Kathy Miller has proven, both as a Stockton Councilmember and County Supervisor, that she actually is the kind of public official that politicians claim to be: responsive, collaborative, and ethical. Kathy will be a very effective legislator for the people of San Joaquin County.”
Miller’s growing list of endorsements includes Assemblymember Susan Eggman, who is seeking election to the Senate, Stockton Mayor Michael Tubbs and Stockton City Councilmembers Dan Wright and Susan Lenz.
