Kathy Miller’s campaign for State Assembly announced today that Emily’s List has endorsed Miller.
“Kathy Miller has always stood up for the needs of her community. During her time on the San Joaquin County Board of Supervisors, she fought for expanding after school programs and helped improve educational collaboration between local and state governments to ensure children are protected and thriving. Emily’s List is certain that Kathy will bring her determination and leadership to Sacramento when elected to the Assembly,” said Geri Prado, Vice President of state and local campaigns at EMILY’s List.
For the last 35 years, Emily’s List has worked to support women running for office. Today, Emily’s List boasts a community of more than 5 million and over 1,200 election victories. Their vision is a government that reflects the people it serves, and decision makers who genuinely and enthusiastically fight for greater opportunity and better lives for the Americans they represent. Emily’s List works tirelessly so America’s families can benefit from the open-minded, productive contributions that women have consistently made in office.
“I am incredibly proud to have the support of Emily’s List,” said Kathy Miller. “Emily’s List and I share a commitment to ensuring women are not only represented in government, but that they have a voice in solving the issues facing all Californians. In the Assembly, I will be a champion for greater access to quality healthcare and will stand with California’s families to ensure they have what they need to thrive.”
The endorsement of Emily’s List comes on the heels of the California Women’s List throwing their support behind Kathy Miller for Assembly District 13. To date, Miller has won the support of the California Democratic Party, Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte, the California School Employees Association, State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Assemblywoman Susan Eggman, Stockton Mayor Michael Tubbs, and others.
The general election will be held on November 3, 2020.
