Today, Kathy Miller’s campaign for Assembly District 13 announced that the California Women’s List has endorsed Miller.
“The California Women’s List proudly endorses Kathy Miller for State Assembly,” said Emily Zahn, Board President of California Women’s List. “For too long, women have not had gender parity in the state legislature, with only 31.7% of all legislative seats represented by women. Not only is Kathy Miller an experienced leader, she will bring the insight we need to critical issues facing California – from improving access to healthcare to providing quality education, access to affordable college and ensuring safe and prosperous communities. Now more than ever, we need someone with Kathy’s know-how to represent us in the State Assembly.”
California Women’s List remains steadfast in the fight for equality, working to build a future of equal representation for women in California state government. With women making up only 30% of members of the California State Legislature despite a growing number of women being elected to office in recent years, CWL works to elect women candidates who will represent their communities and fight for issues that impact women and families across the state.
“It is an honor to receive the support of the California Women’s List,” said Kathy Miller. “We are faced with tremendous challenges that will require steady leadership and a tireless voice for our families, seniors, working men and women, and others. I look forward to working with the California Women’s List and others to advance priorities that improve the lives of these and all Californians.”
The California Women’s List joins several leaders and organizations supporting Kathy Miller for State Assembly, including the California Democratic Party, Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte, the California School Employees Association, State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Assemblywoman Susan Eggman, Stockton Mayor Michael Tubbs, and others.
The general election will be held on November 3, 2020.
