Kathy Miller’s campaign announced today that the California Federation of Teachers has endorsed Kathy Miller for Assembly District 13.
“The COVID-19 pandemic has laid bare the need for equitable funding and access to quality education for our students, families and schools. Kathy Miller will be a champion for student success, ensuring every student has access to the education they deserve. The California Federation of Teachers is proud to endorse Kathy Miller for Assembly,” said CFT President Jeff Freitas.
The California Federation of Teachers represents over 120,000 educational employees working at every level of public and private education from Head Start to the University of California. CFT is affiliated with the 1.7-million-member American Federation of Teachers. CFT is committed to promoting high-quality education and to securing the conditions necessary to provide the best services to California’s students.
“It is an honor to receive the support of the California Federation of Teachers,” said Kathy Miller. “CFT and I share a strong commitment to improving the lives of students and families through a robust education system that puts the needs of students and their success first. In the Assembly, I will make education a top priority, and will work to close the gaps the pandemic and social justice movements have made more apparent in our daily lives.”
CFT joins a growing wave of support behind Miller’s campaign for Assembly District 13, which includes Emily’s List, the California Women’s List, the California Democratic Party, Planned Parenthood Advocates Mar Monte, the California School Employees Association, State Treasurer Fiona Ma, Assemblywoman Susan Eggman, Stockton Mayor Michael Tubbs, and others.
The general election will be held on November 3, 2020.
