The street performer program was developed by Kathy, is coordinated by the Downtown Stockton Alliance, and often includes audience favorite, Bernie Bang.

 

 

Connecting Stockton's Youth

Production of Information Kiosks and placement on all three local college campuses was a key component in the "Attracting the Young & Restless" campaign, which resulted in a 2007 California Downtown Association Crystal Eagle Award in Marketing. 

 

 

Innovative Communication

The Alliance was the first organization of its kind in Stockton to launch a myspace in the summer of 2006, to reach out to Stockton's youth and welcome them into their downtown.

Live Entertainment

Summer concerts energize the Janet Leigh Plaza and create a perfect environment for the community to interact in a positive way.

 

 

 

The results of Kathy's leadership of the Downtown Stockton Alliance speak for themselves:

• Continued reduction in downtown crime statistics and a resulting sense of safety and security by the public.
• Creation of an Entertainment District as part of the successful ten year renewal of the Alliance and the Downtown Management District.
• A re-branding effort to position Stockton as "The Place to Celebrate ", funded by a city-wide coalition of stakeholders.
• The monthly Art Walk, a collaborative Community/Business/Arts event, received the inaugural Mayor's Award from the Stockton Arts Commission in 2006.
• Music in the Square Summer Concert Series, bringing the best in local music and dance to the community, free of charge.
• The Street Performer Program, continuing to bring downtown sidewalks and plazas to life.
